Individual Task
The Underground and Natural Light
Moving underground seems unnatural in the perspective of natural light, because it implies darkness. This sounds inhumane, but it is the everyday life of billions of people. Electricity is still a luxury for many people. At the same time lighting makes up for 20% of the global electricity consumption.
The solution presented in the video is about recreating the natural lighting. Scientists has researched the possibility of creating glowing plants and successfully injected the enzyme Luciferase (found in fireflies for example) in to the leaves. This creating plants emitting light for up to 4 hours.
Suddenly the badly lit underground isn't a problem anymore.
Your proposal Indeed offers lot of new possibility of architecture! I am really curious to see that!
ResponderEliminarThis information for me was new and i really liked it. This can be used in a lot of thing and a lot of different ways. Solving the problems that we are facing, this way(naturally way) i really liked it!
ResponderEliminarI see a lot of possibilities of using your proposal in architecture, but I would love to see some drawings from you, how this method would help to develop your project?
ResponderEliminarI had a flashback with the movie Avatar! Your concept speaks of their concept. I think it could be further developed into something nice.
ResponderEliminarReally interesting information and the video is so romantic. I would like to see it applied in the project
ResponderEliminarIt is very nice to see research used. Do you know though if there are any side-effects and how the enzyme is manufactured? If so, you could design a whole process. It is a nice concept but I agree with Mariya and feel as if the design process could be developed further.
ResponderEliminaropenening doors incredible work of study and apply

ResponderEliminargood idea Linn!
It is interesting how you play with the light and plant. Plant as a lamp is also an interesting idea for the future. And the video is so nice to watch, it makes me pacefull haha :D
ResponderEliminarYou have to apply this knowledge to the architecture in your radical cities, you have a lot of possibilities, i am waiting to see the results of your radical city!
ResponderEliminarThank you!
I like the production of the video and the exploration of the idea of bioluminescence being applied to architecture. Of course I can understand that it is not possible to get a hold of this material but I think that you illustrated it in your video nicely.
ResponderEliminarI love the inspiration in nature! As I said before in coments there is so much that nature can give us, we just have to open our eyes and find it! i would love to have a plant lamp!
ResponderEliminarI think your idea is very powerful! I would never think about using plants as lamps and it is cool. I also like that you are using the power of nature to create architecture.
ResponderEliminarI find it a very interesting concept, I would have liked to see some drawings with your idea, I think it has a lot of power
ResponderEliminarWow imagine if we could really create glow in the dark lamps on a mass scale! The world would be a greener and brighter place. Really cool concept and nice clear video.
ResponderEliminarSince we are also working on a project related to underground, I really focused your video. the idea is very fresh, a good idea nonetheless. Nice!
ResponderEliminarWith your video now we have of course in the architecture-nature, new open doors!
ResponderEliminarand that's so nice,
thank you !! <3
