Nature abortion / Memory and symbols make a city
What is a city?
Thinking of cities, somehow it feel like thinking of a produced habitat, an artificial one, a mix of different conditions that are impossible in nature, so in order to make those circumstances happen, humanity develop this artificial contra-natura ways of living habitats, that then eventually in modernity bring us the city.
About that, to understand a city in its essence maybe we have to think we firstly fail to live in nature, as any other animal. In one way we are an abortion of nature, an specimen that didn’t work in the natural equilibrium, one who break that harmony that go with earth own carbon cycle. We create materials that perdure more and more, and celebrate our memories and history, instead of forgiving and keep living, just as raw nature logic work. But for certain we should ask whats in the human nature, beside the deviation from the most primitive way of living that nature indicated, we have always search for certain divinity on things, in our most primal essence we have always constructed symbols, or we feel the necessity to do it, I think of the first examples of humanity in space, the monolith. Putting a rock in vertical, without any true pragmatic function, we feel the importance of delimitating, for us to mean. Construction in humanity always have a symbolic background, a way of understanding our own perception and memory, a city is that container, it is the best expression of symbols and human metaphysic understanding, that’s why every city have its own essence, it’s a reflection of the determine reality. A city could not be understand without thinking of those ideas,
we have to look at the soul of the city not only it ́s somatic dimension. Because there is the truth of the concept of a city.
