How can a city truly be radical? Its need to be relating to the fundamental nature of something, it must be a great social, economic or political change. We all lived in firsthand how are life changed so suddenly when a pandemic started to affect our cities and the lives of many families around the world. So when in this class the assignment was to make a radical city, we knew it would be a great idea to take in consideration the current social, health and economic situation, maybe the way we design our cities is what is amplifying the problem? So, we thought of a city that could escape from whatever is going on in the world in time of crisis, like wars, natural disaster etc. That is when our floating city came to life and it gave the opportunity of people to escape from reality into a much better reality, a utopian city.
