Manifesto - Benedetta Melli
MANIFESTO - Benedetta Melli
In a dystopian world, following pandemics and global warming, where citizens' lives
must inevitably be isolated, our intent was to enhance the life of isolation, making it
from a dystopian city to a utopian city.
For us it was important to highlight spaces of common life that can no longer be used by the community, first of all the highway, which with its various plots and traffic, is almost one of the symbols of the city of Dubai.
The part of the project that I most felt was mine was the importance of recycling and education.
The first concerned the reuse of car parts, which now are not used.
In fact, the wheels of the machines in the project are used to create platforms of different heights, the seats of the machines to create places to sit and the outside of the machines to isolate the highway with a barrier.
In this way, thanks to the reuse of materials in our project, new spaces are created for the community on the highway, especially for education, which is important for maintaining balance in the city.
The city is rediscovered, using materials and spaces that already existed.
