RADIC@l CITY by Tatia Mamulashvili
Adaptation
VS Domination.
Dubai is a
one of the richest country in the word. Everyone wishes to visit
once in their life maybe, because it seems to be so different from other cities. And why is it so attractive? Because of the luxury skyscraper? Or because
of the great place for businessmen..
There are trying to make it more attractive using there resources, spending
money however even though we can’t call Dubai Radical city and place were Adaptation is wining the battle with
domination, also we can’t say that they’re using there resources in the right way.
The main is the way of thinking and how you use this power. In the city there is no balance, in that aspect we can call Dubai radical, because on different sides of the road we can see radical situations.

Architecture.. the adaptation of form to resist force. Architecture is a
political act, by nature. It has to do with the relationships between people
and how they decide to change their conditions of living. It seems
like desert is place without expectation, but Dubai has a great connection
with the sea and has a resources of petrol, combining all this we’re
creating not a place for a minute joy, we’re actually creating place for people, and as Tadao
Ando said "he way people live can be directed as Architecture" so we’re creating Architecture with the help of the salt.
We’re receiving salt from sea water, our balloons which is full of the gas
takes water from the sea and makes the rain. Water is full of salt and salt
itself creates architecture(second facades, corridors). We are creating Salt structure,
salt reflects the sun light, then we are having a beautiful colorful shadows
and the main, we have Architecture for new way of living.
